I am an artist whose work is a series of processes conducted for exploration, socializing, discipline, fun, practice, community, spontaneity, dedication, indecision, learning, failing and building; all of which may or may not serve any functional purpose.
Drawing inspiration from the Conceptual Art movement of the 70's, I utilize sculpture, performance, traditional visual art media as well as video, programming and found object to convey physical accumulations of repeated gestures. I work simply and enjoy minimalism, but allow for excess through organic and controlled growth. My work is an assertion that the time spent making, is worth just as much, if not more, then the finished result. I am an artist whose work rejects materialism, yet embraces it for its qualities of spectacle.
I research and familiarize myself with new environments to create context specific work that discusses the value of ritual, while attempting to build communities. My passion for social practice is fueled by the desire for understanding and compromise; hoping that in turn, I will learn more about myself and my role as part of a whole.
My work is about spending time, wasting time, investing time, making time, sharing time, all the while diligently and impatiently progressing.
